Customized aggregates for customer-specific applications
Our standard units for machining various materials such as wood, plastics or composites cover a wide range of common applications.
However, we face up to individual challenges and find a solution together with the customer that is tailored to his requirements.
For customer-specific applications, we are happy to perform development work and manufacture corresponding special units.
Here you will find our latest specially developed aggregates.
Circular hole milling in plastic by multi-spindle aggregate on robot
Multi-spindle milling head on a robot
The VERTI FUNCTION LINE multi-spindle aggregate is attached to a robot arm as an add-on unit and is driven by a motor. The CNC aggregate performs circular milling operations by plunging circularly into the material with an interpolating movement to mill four holes in plastic in one pass. This is a customized special production for a customer who specializes in the production of plastic profiles for various industries.
The VERTI FUNCTION LINE multi-spindle aggregate is a milling unit with several spindles that enables simultaneous vertical drilling or milling. It enables the precise production of complex drilling patterns on CNC machines and in robotic systems.
The design of this multi-spindle milling head was adapted precisely to the requirements of the customer, who specified the number of spindles, the grid dimension and the arrangement, as well as the exact geometry of the drilling pattern. Industrial circular hole milling as an end-of-arm solution on a robot improves productivity and the quality of the machining results.
Circular milling with a CNC aggregate
Circular milling is a machining technique in which a milling tool describes a circular path to create a hole or circular pocket in a workpiece. This method is often used to produce precise round holes or complex contoured surfaces.
Unlike conventional drilling with a drill, circular milling uses a milling tool to create the hole. This is particularly useful for large diameters that are difficult to achieve with a standard drill.
Circular milling is often used on CNC machines or robots where the movements of the milling tool are precisely programmed and controlled. This technique enables the production of complex and precise components in various industries."
Corner notching aggregate for mechanical pointing of radii in the smallest cut-outs
At the “Dach + Holz” 2024 trade fair, Swiss tool manufacturer Oertli presented an innovative collaboration and new development with ATEMAG in the form of a new corner notching aggregate. This CNC aggregate was designed for processing softwood and hardwood, glulam and cross laminated timber panels and solves a previous challenge in the woodworking process automatically on CNC joinery systems and portal processing machines.
The cnc aggregate, which is suitable for both 4-axis machines and 5-axis machines, is characterized by a robust aggregate body with a high and solid steel housing. Depending on the dimensions of the pointing cutter used, it enables a pointing process for machining depths of up to 400 mm in the smallest space of 200 x 200 mm.
The mechanical components have been carefully selected to ensure reliable continuous operation. The compact and slim design minimizes disturbance variables, while the 45° tool exit enables tool mounting using an ER32 collet. The machine is connected via various interfaces, with the modular torque support helping to prevent twisting.
Dowel aggregate for driving wooden dowels into stationary machines
At the Ligna in May 2023, we will present another dowel insertion unit. It complements the possibilities of automatic dowel insertion in Holz-Her machines. While the dowel insertion aggregate, which has already proven itself on the market, is installed as a unit in Holz-Her's EVOLUTION 7405 PinJet CNC machining center, the "new" dowel unit is now designed for a new dowel & drilling machine from the machine manufacturer. This is on display at the Holz-Her booth with the ATEMAG unit included and is a complement to nesting machines, for example.
The dowel unit installed in the machine offers two special new features. On the one hand, different driving depths and dowel projections can be set. In addition, the machine can process different dowel sizes.

Angular aggregate for processing quartz glass
The specially developed CNC aggregate enables the precise processing of quartz glass by grinding slots into the material. The resulting workpiece serves as a high-temperature-resistant carrier for processing silicon wafers in the semiconductor industry.
Quartz glass offers outstanding thermal stability and temperature resistance. As a non-crystalline (amorphous) glass material consisting of pure silicon dioxide (SiO2), it is characterized by a very high melting point of around 1650 °C and low thermal expansion. These properties make it extremely resistant to thermal shocks.
Challenges in quartz glass processing
Due to its high mechanical strength and the abrasive dusts produced, processing quartz glass poses particular challenges. The resulting grinding pressure can lead to rapid wear of the machining components.
Solution with the ATEMAG quartz glass aggregate
The quartz glass unit is specially designed to handle the sanding pressure optimally and guarantees a service life of around 1000 to 1500 working hours. After maintenance, the aggregate is fully operational again, resulting in high efficiency, reduced process costs and a long service life.
