The corner notching aggregate mills right-angled corners into the radii of the cut-outs of wooden panels in joinery systems and portal processing machines. Previously, the workpiece had to be removed from the machine for the next work step in order to manually mill the resulting radii in the window or door cut-outs to 90°. The time-consuming removal and turning of the large-format wall and ceiling elements for pointing is no longer necessary thanks to the use of the corner notching aggregate, as the notching process is carried out in the machine without additional manpower.

The CNC aggregate is designed for processing softwood and hardwood, glulam and cross laminated timber panels and automates the woodworking process on CNC joinery systems and portal processing machines.

The corner squaring aggregate is suitable for 4-axis machines and 5-axis machines and is characterized by a robust aggregate body with a high and solid steel housing. Depending on the dimensions of the milling tool used, it enables a notching process for machining depths of up to 400 mm in the smallest space of 200 x 200 mm, with the mechanical components guaranteeing reliable continuous operation. The compact and slim design minimizes interference variables, while the 45° tool exit enables tool mounting using an ER32 collet chuck. The machine is connected via various interfaces, with the modular torque support helping to prevent twisting.

The optimized process sequence with the corner squaring aggregate is as follows:

After milling out the recess and the minimum clearance for processing by the aggregate, the machine spindle retrieves the corner notching aggregate from the tool changer and moves to the remaining radii of the recess. The routing tool works its way vertically into the corner of the recess and cuts the corner precisely to size.

The corner squaring unit is not only available as a stand-alone product, but also as a comprehensive system solution in conjunction with the indexable milling tool from tool manufacturer OERTLI. In addition, customer-specific adaptations are possible so that other panel dimensions can also be processed without any problems. This offers users in the woodworking industry the opportunity to use the pointing unit according to individual applications and specific project requirements.
